President Buhari stated that Nigeria remains indivisible regardless of the ongoing agitation and protests for Biafra nation in parts of the country. He said this while speaking at the Council Chambers of Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday as he launched the 2016 Armed forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund.
According to the President, Nigeria recently celebrated 55 years of political independence and it continues to remain as one indivisible entity despite several grievous challenges.
He emphasized the fact that the country had witnessed a lot of internal strife, survived a civil war and remained united since independence was an “eloquent testimony” to the determination of Nigerians to remain one.
Buhari said he was proud to address the “solemn” gathering in honour of those who, he noted, devoted their lives to the service of Nigeria and the world at large.
Describing the current security challenges as a trying time for the country, the president said the theme of this year’s remembrance “Motivating the Nigerian Armed Forces for Effective Service Delivery” was very apt for the present realities.
President Buhari launched the emblem with a donation of N10 million. (-Source)
