Manchester United have confirmed that defender Luke Shaw has undergone a surgery in Eindhoven having suffered a double fracture to his right leg according to reports from eyefootball.
The England international suffered the horrific injury during United's 2-1 Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night, following a tough challenge from Hector Moreno.
It had been earlier reported that Shaw would undergo the surgery on arrival to Manchester.
However, it has now been revealed that the procedure took place in Eindhoven yesterday following the club's game.
"Luke underwent surgery on his injury on Tuesday night and will remain in hospital in Eindhoven to continue his early recovery," a statement read on the club's official website.
