Does the word Seduction mean anything to you? Yes, it should; and if it doesn’t then it may mean that you are either insensitive or gullible. In a world where half naked ladies are preferably used for advert purposes on TV’s, Billboards and Newspaper, it cannot be strange. However, contrary to the perception held by many, seduction transcend sexual immorality

Seduction generally implies the act of luring, enticing, and beguiling or inducing someone to engage either in sexual relationship, improper conduct or unacceptable behavior. It goes beyond sex to even things like drunkenness, partying, bribery and corruption etc. Once you are lured into an unacceptable behavior, you have been seduced.

Delilah’s Lap is figuratively used here to connote the act of seduction that has been the major weights that has often beset and pull down many Christians, Youths and principled individuals.

The Bible story in Judges Chapter 16 about Samson and Delilah is worth meditating on and drawing vital lessons from. Notice that it was at the point where Samson slept on Delilah’s Lap (Judges 16:19) that the process of losing all his virtue, dignity, purpose and glory began. Are you almost lying on Delilah’s Lap or are you lying and even snoring on Delilah’s Lap? Be careful, because you are driving in a dark alley and you may collide your destiny; just like Samson, your glory, Virtues, honor may be ripped off from you if you don’t quickly make amend.

Gleaning from this story, we can avoid following the paths that led to Samson’s destruction:

Firstly, avoid company and places that are immoral. Samson went to Gaza the land of the Philistines, the enemies of the Israelites. What was he doing there? Instinct has helped many of us know that some of the places we go e.g. clubs, parties etc and the friends or company we keep are no good, yet we ignore our mind. Your friends and association will determine your future. Birds of feathers flock together. A goat that walks with a dog will soon start eating faeces. There is no point flocking together with a drunkard when you are not one. You may be influenced or seduced into drinking if you still keep such friends

 Secondly, feed your five senses with wholesome things as much as possible. Your five senses are your eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot with his eyes and trouble started. What do you watch in your closet? Porn or Bible? You can’t deliver what you are not pregnant of. You seduce yourself whenever you devout your time feeding your body through your eyes watching porn or feeding your body via your tongue drinking alcohol. To feed the body, one of the five senses must be involved. What are you feeding yourself with?

Thirdly, Do not Wave away warning Signals. Usually temptations that we face do not happen all at once. If we are sensitive and obey our conscience regularly, we will often hear our inner being telling us that what we are about to do isn’t right. Delilah asked Samson three times what the source of his power was and he lied to her on those three occasions. But that was not enough, those were warning signals Samson defy. When he didn't take action the first time by sending Delilah away, she persisted up to the fourth time and got her answer. So also will you fall into any temptation if you don’t heed the warning being given to you most times by your heart at the beginning of your escapades. This article is a warning signal for you now; will you take heed to its content?

Finally, Delilah’s lap is all over the place, they are like the Satan being said  “going to and fro the earth seeking whom to destroy.” The intent of the Biblical Delilah was to destroy Samson, the intent of the modern day Delilah cannot  therefore be different, in fact, their mission now is more deadly. Do you want to rip off your glory on earth and eternally? The choice is yours
