1. Ensure to send your CV with a cover letter attached or pasted on the body of the mail.

2. Your Cover letter should State where and how you saw the vacancy (if its referral state it, possibly the name of the person who referred you, that's if you have his/her permission) it helps to personalize your application, it helps the company gauge which of their job ad medium is most effective and it helps your application look thorough.

3. Ensure your application (email) has the right subject I.e (Application for Customer Service Agent Position)

4. Never forward your CV on a mail trail of previous applications (begin a new mail)

5. Never send your application to multiple recruiters in one mail using Cc (don't be lazy, one mail per application)

6. Should you really be applying for every job? Only apply for jobs in your area of competence and career path (except you are switching career path)

7. Never send your application on weekends, except you are told to do so. More applications will sit on yours before Monday (it reduces the chances of being shortlisted)                                                                                                    -(Credit: Nairaland)
