As the 51st Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi was being given the staff of office, dignitaries from all works of life honoured him with their presence, Pulse.ng reports.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that among the early callers at the Enuowa, venue of the occasion were the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun.
Also at the event were former Minister of Defence, Gen.Thiophilus Danjuma, the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Bola Tinubu, among others.
The Chairman of the Media Sub-Committee of the occasion, Mr Biyi Odulande told NAN that the event was an important one that attracted many people from all works of life to Ile-Ife.
According to him, the same event took place about 35 years ago, during the coronation of the late Ooni Okunade Siujuwade in 1980.
Odunlade said: "the people of Ile-Ife and indeed the entire Yoruba people are lucky to have had the king of the cradle of Yoruba race in the person of Ogunwusi Enitan."
