Reports from Itv says, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney found the target once again on Monday night when he slapped WWE star Wade Barrett.
Rooney was attending the wrestling with son Kai, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher, when he was called out by Preston fan Barrett during the show.
"In this ring are two men who can be described as having championship material," said Barrett.
"Which is more than can be said for Wayne Rooney and Manchester United."
Eventually the pair came face to face, at which point Rooney slapped the wrestler, much to the enjoyment of those in attendance.
It all ended peacefully enough as the striker and his former team-mates had photos taken with their fellow attendees backstage.
