You don’t rise by Chance, you work
at it consciously. However certain factors must be in place to guarantee your
Elevation.
1 1. The Power
of Planning: A Chinese Proverb say that a journey of a thousand mile begins
with a step, therefore I believe planning is the first step of any journey in
life. Only a mad man travels without planning. The Success of any journey is
determined by the level of preparation put into it. 2Chronicles 27:6. The God
whom we serve is the greatest planner. He gave Noah a Plan of how to build the
ark. He also gave Solomon a plan of how to build the tabernacle.
A plan can be
defined as the design of a step by step approach to achieve set goals. It could
also be seen as a process of action in the quest to fulfill a dream. Luke 14:28
To Master your
career, business or Home, sit down to plan. Planning gives Value to your
enterprise. Minimum Plan brings minimum results and vice-versa. Your dream is
dead without a plan. Without a plan, what you have is a mere Wish. No matter
how lofty your vision is, if you don’t plan, you can’t actualize it. A plan
forces you to think and project yourself into the future thus giving you
control.
If you don’t think,
you may stink. Planning helps you think ahead and reduce any uncertainties the
future hold. Planning maximizes your resources and programe your life for
success
Steps to Planning:
(a)
Decide what you want; this should be done with
prayers
(b)
Write it down
(c)
Outline the steps to achieve the goal
(d)
Develop a time frame for each step
(e)
Determine the cost price to pay and ask yourself
if you are ready to pay it
(f)
Begin to take daily steps on your plan.
Note that planning is so important that people are
employed and paid for that purpose. For instance, Nigeria has a whole Ministry
dedicated to Planning.
2 2. Self Discipline: Discipline is the
crucial link between where you are and where you want to be. Information
without discipline is total failure. 1Corinthians 9:25. Self discipline is
about self control. Your greatest enemy is yourself not the devil. Your
flesh(Self) doesn’t care about your vision; thus you must strive to conquer
self.
Discipline Simply
means control gained by following set rules. It is the expression of willpower
over personal desires and natural inclination. Mike Murdock said, “successful
people do the things Failures don’t
like.”
How to develop Self Discipline:
1.
Do what you have to do to achieve your goal
2.
Ignore discouragement
3.
Resist Distraction
4.
Dump your excuses, because excuses are agents of
abortion
Finally, note that your Seriousness
to become great is only as serious as to how serious you are disciplining yourself. Selah!
